The Main-Danube Canal
The route from Bamberg to Kelheim is characterized by idyllic nature and impressive technology. During the cruise through the highest locks in Germany, you will experience how harmoniously the waterway has been integrated into the surrounding landscape. A special highlight is the section is the stretch through the paradisiacal nature of the Altmühl Valley.
The Danube
With a length of 2,888 kilometers from its source in the Black Forest to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea, the Danube is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga. From Kelheim, the journey goes via Regensburg and Passau to Austria and from there leads through such beautiful landscapes as the sunny wine-growing region of Wachau. Dürnstein and Melk are the highlights along this route before reaching Vienna, the metropolis on the Danube. The Slovakian capital Bratislava is just as fascinating as the Hungarian landscape at the Danube bend and Budapest with its unique views.
