Volkach

The wine town of Volkach is the center of the Mainschleife and has a history of more than 1100 years of Franconian wine. Around a quarter of Franconia’s vineyards are cultivated in this region. Four winegrowers’ cooperatives and over 150 self-marketing winegrowers are located here within a radius of 15 kilometers. The Mainschleife is the largest contiguous wine-growing area in Franconia. Some of the best winemakers in Germany and the world are at home here!
